The Eroded digital gallery explores the complex form of the original Eroded coffee table. Cast in Jesmonite and hand-finished to create an oil-like surface with cracks and pitting. Cold to the touch and fully asymetric in form.
The maquette was formed in wax by designer, Alexander Webb, inspired by collecting lucky “witches stones” as a child from pebbled beaches on the Suffolk coastline, where he grew up.
The form has been scanned, and digitally manipulated to create a full collection of functional artwork, including a dining table, shelving, console table and side tables. The materiality evokes the original thought of eroded stone, captured in Rosso Levanto marble, bronze, lacquer and resin.
